No, if:
You want a quick fix
Your only goal is weight loss or how you look
You are looking for ayurvedic support for a medical disease or condition
Can’t I just do this alone?
You definitely can!
Here’s why I’d think twice:
You get to look at your relationship with food. Laura found the week helped her notice what comes up when she wants something but isn’t actually hungry.
You’re held by people who get it. A space full of others who love gentle, healthy living, so you feel encouraged, not on your own.
Starting any new habit always comes with some resistance & challenges - so set yourself up for success by joining others doing the same thing
Is this my first time doing a reset? Can I do it?
Yes. Lots of women start here, and you’ll be guided every day.
Eerrrr, I don’t actually know what kitchari or Ayurveda is?!
No problem.
Kitchari is a lightly spiced mung bean and rice soup. It’s delicious!
Ayurveda is a traditional Indian approach to health, looking at food, lifestyle and daily rhythm.
What will I be eating?
For 7 days, kitchari is the main food. The same simple meal, with the extras laid out in your daily guide. See an overview of the week here:
I'm vegan, can I join?
Yes! All recipes are vegetarian, and ghee can be replaced by coconut oil
I'm worried about being hungry?!
The great thing about this reset week is that we are not restricting food. We are adding in food which nourishes us, whilst also supporting our digestive health. You are actually encouraged to eat as much as you need, and really trust your body's hunger signals. What we do focus on is becoming satisfied at meal times and snacking less to give our body time to properly digest, but if you do need something in between, there are snack suggestions given.
But is this just another quick fix that won't last?!
There is a risk with any 7 day reset that you eat healthily, then go back to normal. However, everything about this programme is designed to support you to reflect & go DEEP.
It's not about punishing or restricting your body. It’s about giving it the nourishment it needs and listening for what feels like a YES. After the 7 days, Maria was motivated to see how many days she could keep saying yes to her body.
This approach makes looking after your body something you WANT TO DO.
Here from some women who gave it a go...
About Lizzy
Hiya, I'm Lizzy and I will be available in the community group to support you and answer any questions you may have.
My favourite Ayurvedic saying is: “To be out of life is to be out of balance.” For so long, I was a health perfectionist, trying to perfectly manage every aspect of my wellbeing. But in reality, life itself is dynamic, and perfect balance isn’t possible - which is why reset weeks can be so helpful. And it's also why I preach small daily progress over 100% perfection!
I’ve been using fasting as a wellness tool for a while. But in 2023, the year I qualified as an Ayurvedic therapist, I shifted to a gentler approach. Ayurveda appealed to me because it emphasizes both detoxification and nourishment, allowing the body to reset in a way that supports our digestion & hormonal health.
I originally started fasting to manage IBS symptoms and recover from periods of intense stress while working full-time as a teacher. Today, reset weeks remain an integral part of my health routine and a way I manage my energy levels when life feels like an out of control game of spinning plates!
I am a holistic healing practitioner, trained as a therapist in Ayurveda, under the guidance of Dr Arun, at Ayuskama Ayurveda in Dharamshala, India. I am also a yoga teacher, and secondary school science teacher.
